The great thing about wool:

  • It is cosy, warm and breathable.
  • It is antibacterial, dirt-repellent and odour-resistant.
  • It is biodegradable.
  • It is a natural, renewable resource.

We want wool – but only with GOTS certification. This ensures that the wool comes from sheep raised in certified organic livestock farming and is processed in an environmentally friendly manner – for example, without the use of harmful chemicals.

Wool should be aired regularly, for example by hanging it up overnight. If items start to smell strongly, hang them outside or in a warm, humid bathroom after showering. Please do not hang them in direct sunlight.

We generally advise against hand washing. The gentlest method is always the wool cycle or the special gentle cycle at 30 °C in the washing machine.

Always use a wool or mild detergent. Using other detergents can cause wool to felt and shrink.

After washing, squeeze the textiles in a terry towel.
Never dry them in direct sunlight and always dry them flat.

Store them flat and dry.

Take heavily soiled favourite items to a professional dry cleaner for gentle cleaning.

Use a lint shaver to remove bobbles.

Use natural moth protection, such as lavender.
If you want to store your woollen jumpers over the summer, put them in an airtight container with a lavender bag.
